Windsor Court

Son of a Civil War hero and Queens landowner, William A. Jones, Jr. was both an attorney and a prominent member of the early Richmond Hill/Kew Gardens community. Along with Alrick Man, he was a member of the East Richmond Hill Land Co. which developed the section of Kew Gardens that now lies east of Lefferts Boulevard. He drew up the incorporation papers for the Richmond Hill Association and the Kew Gardens Country Club of which he served as an officer. His home, shown to the left, was located on Walnut (116th) Street, and my best guess is that it stood on the site of the present day Windsor Court Apartments.
