The Kew Manor Apartments, Metropolitan Avenue between Lefferts Boulevard and 118th Street, Kew Gardens, NY, c. 1940.
Linen postcards became popular in the late 1930's. So named because of the paper's texturized finish, they featured simpler, more idealized images, and more vivid colors than their black and white or tinted real photograph predecessors. This image is from a linen postcard of the Kew Manor Apartments on Metropolitan Avenue west of Lefferts Boulevard which, in 1940, offered "full housekeeping suites".
