Mller's Goldfish Pond

Another small lake was Mller's Goldfish Pond, named after August Mller (see the next page). It was located between today's 82nd Road (then called Mller Avenue) and 82nd Avenue (then called Lefferts Avenue) just west of present day Queens Boulevard in an area then called Maple Hill Park. Like Crystal Lake, the Pond was formed during the ice age and fed by an underground spring. Also like Crystal Lake, it fell victim to developers in Kew Gardens' early years and does not appear on any maps after 1915.
