By Borough Hall

The view to the west is the same as the last page except it is from the ground. In the bottom picture, Borough Hall is on the right, obscured by trees. In 1941, plans were made to turn Queens Boulevard into an expressway, but World War II put everything on hold. After the War, the City turned its attention instead to Horace Harding Boulevard which it transformed into the Long Island Expressway.
