THE NEW YORK CITY BUS AND SUBWAY STRIKE
(December 20, 2005) Page 1 of 8 When the New York City Transit Workers went on strike last month, Queens residents dependent on buses and subways to get around suddenly found that the Long Island Rail Road was the only game in town. On the morning of the first day of the strike, our own Peter Hack photographed the lines of Queens commuters who came to the Kew Gardens Station hoping to find their way into the City.
