The Trains
Long Island Railroad trains pass through Kew Gardens, one eastbound, the other westbound. Although the bottom photograph looks as if it could have been taken last winter, it was in fact taken 30 years ago. In the background, Sam Lefrak's 20 story Park Lane South Apartment Building sits atop the Long Island Railroad tracks.
