The Site of Queens Borough Hall
The black and white photograph was taken in 1940 from 126th Street looking south across former swamp land that would, within a year, become the site of the new Queens Borough Hall. The color photograph shows that same view today with a mostly obstructed view of the rear of Borough Hall. Click on the images to enlarge. Enlarging the black and white image will identify the Kew Gardens landmarks in the background.
