The Criminal Courthouse

In the 1870's, this site was the Maple Hill Farm owned by Timothy Jackson. It later came to be known as Maple Hill Park.  Now, it is the location of the Queens Criminal Court, built in 1961. Several famous trials have been held there, including the Kitty Genovese murder trial and the two trials of Alice Crimmins who was accused in the 1965 murders of her two children. The view is to the west from the Grand Central Parkway. Queens Boulevard is on the other side of the courthouse.
