The Kew Arlington Court
Kew Gardens was intended to be a refuge from the noise, dirt, congestion and endless concrete of city life. Its apartments were set amid front lawns, trees and other greenery. When the Interborough Parkway came through, the garden apartments along Union Turnpike became the very thing they were intended not to be: city apartments. These are the Kew Arlington Court Apartments located next to the Kew Kensington Court. Colonial Hall [following page] is in the background.
