The Kew Kensington Court
In city planning as in life, when something is gained, something else is lost. When New York City gained the Interborough Parkway in the 1930's, the apartment houses along Union Turnpike lost their "garden" setting. Buildings that had looked out over front lawns and a tree lined boulevard now abutted a major highway. One such apartment building was the Kew Kensington Court on Union Turnpike at the corner of Austin Street.
