The Kew Kensington Court
The Kew Kensington Court Apartment House faces Union Turnpike at the corner of Austin Street. It was one of a number of apartment buildings that went up during the 1920's along Kew Gardens' main roads. Until then, Kew Gardens had been an enclave of private homes. When the Interboro Parkway came through in the mid-1930's, the Kew Kensington Court lost both its peaceful suburban setting and its front lawn.
