The Kew Lefferts

"[A] special meeting of the Kew Gardens Civic Association was held at the Country Club Tuesday evening, December 14th. ... The object of the meeting was the consideration by members of a proposed agreement which the officers of the Civic Association considered advisable to make with the Kew Gardens Corporation. Under this agreement, it would become impossible for apartment houses to be erected in certain areas. ... The meeting was an enthusiastic one, practically everyone present showing clearly that the proposed agreement met with their approval. When the vote was taken, there was only one dissenting voice ... ."
